Introduction :
The Kakadu National Park is located in the Northern Territory of Australia and around 170 km southeast of Darwin. It has been inscripted into the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its beautiful landscapes and wide variety of wildlife and was continously inhabitated for more than 40,000 years. The National Park is the largest in Australia and covers an area almost 20,000 square km. The main attractions in the park is the landscapes and waterfalls like the Arnhem Land, the Kakadu Escarpment, Jim Jim falls, Yellow Water Billabong and the Nourlangie Rock as well as the paintings on the rocks by the early settlers in the area.

History :
Human activites was believed to have occured in the Kakadu more than 40,000 years ago with more than 5000 recorded art culture sites and archaelogical evidence have proved human occupation for least 20,000 years. The Kakadu National Park was established in 1975 under the NPWC Act and took three stages before the current size of the park was fully protected in 1991.

The closest airport to the Kakadu National Park is the Jabiru Airport (JAB) which is only 7 km from the park while the closest international airport is the Darwin International Airport (DRW) which is around 200 km from the park.
