History :
Little was documented on the history within the tribes in the Yasuni National Park which was created in 1979 except that it was within the claimed ancestral territory of the Huaorani people who were native Amerindians living in the Amazonia region at Ecuador. The exploitation and production of petroleum within the park have threatened the eco system within the park and strong protests were made against it.
