History :
Livingstone was named after the British explorer who set foot on the region as the first white man to explore the town and found the magnificent Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. It soon became a British colonial city during the late 19th century and boomed after the railway reached the Falls as colonial settlers arrived. Livingstone prospered due to trade between the northern and southern sides of the Zambezi and from farming and timber production.
