History :
Traces of human history in Tikal dates back to 1000 BC where early agriculture sites were discovered and Mamom ceramics dating back to 700 Bc were also found there. Maya architectural monuments were built during 400 BC. The 14th king of Tikal, Chak Tok Ich’aak built a palace around the region during 300 AD which later became the core of the Acropolis until the fall of the Maya civilization during the 9th century causing the city to be abandoned. Tikal was first documented in European history by Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes in 1525 but expeditions to the ruins only began in the 1850s guided by the locals who never forgot about Tikal.

History :
The name Maldives is believed to have been derived from Sanskrit in Tamil. The earliest written existence of Maldives in history was marked by the visit of the Sinhalese people when exiled Magadha Prince Vijaya and his party of hundred landed in the region around 500 BC. The first settlers in the country were the Dravidian people as early as 300 B.C living off the coast as fisherman. Buddhism was introduced to the Maldives when Emperor Asoka’s empire extended to the region and was the dominant region until the 12th century. Maldives became a British protected state in 1887 after signing a contract with the British Governor of Ceylon with self governing rights in exchange for an annual tribute. Maldives gain independence as a republic country in 1968 after a voting of 40/44 in favour of a republic. In recent years global warming have cause glaciers to melt rapidly resulting in a sea level rise, with an average of inches in sea levels rising in the past 100 years, there is a risk of Maldives sinking and disappearing on the surface within the next 100 years. So visit this magnificent place while it still exists!

History :
The construction of the Neuschwanstein Castle began in 1869 and was unfinished at the time of King Ludwig II’s death in 1886 but was completed without the planned saints figures in 1892 in simplified form. It was one of the main source of revenue for the Bavarian royal family after the king’s death when the public could pay to visit the castle. The Neuschwanstein Castle survived both WWI and WWII due to its remote located and served as a depot for Nazi war loots until 1944.
